Video Games doesn't make us violent, LOG DOES!

OK, before I start on my topic, I just wanna tell you guys that I'm trying to join the Rumble Royale Voice Over contest led by my lovely god tier shoutcaster, GS RIKU! I have all the things I need (still downloading a video editing software) one thing needed is that the admins approve my membership to the Rumble Royale FB group. For more info about the contest, watch this video:

Anyway, going back to my topic, I just opened up this topic inspired by a true story. Now I know I've experience this a lot of times on some of my games but it's just... JUST SO ANNOYING! (Common cause of this is my younger sister hogging the WiFi downloading KPop stuff. But I'm her brother so I'm not stopping her for liking those kind of stuff) But what I do cringe a lot are some of our LoL players just typing "log" in the chat box instead of "lag" like "tae log ako ****".  I do understand their pain 'cause everybody experiences that EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THIS GUY JUST MENTIONED A CHUNK OF WOOD FROM THE CUT DOWNED TREE! ARRRGH.. COME ON!!!
This, my friends, is a LOG! And if you type this in the chat box, PLEASE CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR, MAN!

/deep breath/ Sorry for the rage burst but I just can't stop being angry. Yeah, I get angry when lag happens in a middle of a teamfight or in a crucial situation in ranked but what angers me more is the fact that they keep typing that BIG word called "log"! Now before I go with a massive barrage of rants, allow me to explain how does log, oh I mean, lag works: LAG is a phenomenon wherein too much data is transferred to the Internet (example of this is downloading or streaming) thus clogging the bandwidth of a certain connection such as WiFi. Some effects of this thing are, delayed movement of the characters which happens when we play League of Legends or constant buffering happens when we watch PGS streams and many others.
And if you see this while you're doing the CMD ping check, you know what this means.

And to make things clear, LOG like what I said is simply a chunk of wood from a cut downed tree. Well, to be honest, lag can somehow be frustrating; in my own experience I was like "I wanna become a better player BUT NO, LAG RUINED MY EXPERIENCE. I wanna improve my game BUT NO, LAG STOPPED ME FOR DOING IT. I gotta win my ranked games and promote to gold BUT NO, LAG MADE ME STUCK IN BRONZE!".

So, next time you're playing League and lag gets you on the way. Just chill, it happens to everybody. Before you engage yourself in the rift, ALWAYS.. and I mean ALWAYS check your ping first before you play, it's the summoner's general rule of thumb. And if lag happens in random, it's fine. Keep playing and hope you'll win it despite of the difficulty. AND IF I SEE ANOTHER DUDE TYPING AND SPAMMING "LOG" IN CHAT, IT'S NOT VIDEO GAMES THAT MAKE ME VIOLENT, LOG DOES!

Alright, this wraps up this topic and I thank you guys for taking time to read this. If you guys have lag story to share, suggest my next LoL topic or just wanna comment, feel free to do so in the comments below. Again, thank you guys and I'll see you on the next one.

We HATE each other sometimes (My own theory about TOXIC)

Why do we play League of Legends in the first place? Some may say to have fun, some for competitive reason (talk about grinding to gold and above), while others well they wanna kill some time after long hours of work or school. But what I wanna talk about is the common word of the LOL community, TOXIC.

Now, I've read numerous articles like why people like to rage or what triggers us to blame our teammates and all of 'em are TRUE. This time, I'm going to talk about some of my opinions of how do we start being toxic:

  • The "Winning is everything" mindset
Trust me guys, I have this kind of mindset since I'm starting my ranked journey back in Season 4 (and so the rest of it). OK, how do I come up with this theory? It's because of RANKED GAMES! Ranked games are created to test the player's skill and ranks are determined based on his/her game performance. One of the factors that build up this mindset is the RANK TIER. During the previous seasons, there was this system called the ELO system wherein it is determined by the number of ELO. Now the rank tier system is introduced in the 3rd season wherein you win a game to earn LP, then win your promotional series (depending on the division) and once you win a certain number of games, you either advance to the next division or promote to the next tier.
Going back to the topic, we want to win games because of the rewards (LP gain, end of season goodies, you name it). But when we start to lose, we tend to either be sad or blame our sucky teammates for that loss (even though it's our own fault for it); and if it gets worse we start being sour or what we wanna call, TOXIC. And once we became toxic, we spew out those poisonous words which may affect the morale of our team which means more DEFEATS and more chance of getting demoted if you are in a tier higher than Bronze.
  • The Rank Tier ego
It's kinda related on the first one but I must say this is somehow true but this time, it concerns about our current ranks (for those people who completed their provisionals).
There is a common misconception about our ranks wherein Plat and above players means they have better skills than those in Gold tier below. Although we saw on the demographics on some articles about the ranked population, we didn't know how many of those top 1% in the Platinum community are seriously good or bunch of crap.  So, what triggers this mindset is this "ego" we had, that we are better than the rest of the dudes playing the game as if they're saying in chat na, "wag ka na mag LOL vovo" or "vovo ka <insert champ name here> uninstall mo na yan" whenever we see one of our teammate suck at the game. Whatever the reason was, let's always remember (myself included) that ranks doesn't determine the player (or summoner in the LOL terminology), skill and attitude does.
(Please refer to the Darius chat)
  • The BAD VIBES moment
Yeah, it is inevitable to have bad times in our lives including myself. I must say that this is one factor that happens within the life of a player whether they have problems with family, school, relationship, work, money or even our Internet connections. And if all these mishaps affect our gameplay, chances are we're playing our worst (which also means the start of the rage wars). So again, it just happens that there's nothing we can do about it.

So there you have it, this wraps up about my opinions or theories  about how do we start to become toxic. Even though LOL PH community is filled with toxic players, the only thing we can do is enjoy the game either alone or with friends and if you saw one toxic dude in your team, you can either mute that dude or report it to the GMs from the Tribunal, trust me they're very, very friendly guys. To conclude this post, allow me to share you a quote which based on the excerpt of one of JWittz's video about pronouncing Pokemon names: Before you start raging at your teammate, did you also play bad that made your team lose the game? If yes, why not let it pass? Save your anger for the real things that matter...

Like Teemo shrooms, with no pink wards or sweepers.
You know what else is toxic? TEEMO SHROOMS! AAAUUUGHHH!

If you guys have other theories or reasons why we start being toxic or you got toxic stories you wanna share, feel free to comment and I'd love to hear it from you. Thanks guys and see you the next one.

Welcome to my Blogging Rift

WELCOME TO SUM- (uhhmm.. ehem) MY BLOGGING RIFT!

OK, it's been a very long time since I've been writing blogs about my poems then designing with with a touch of Photoshop and after that I became inactive also for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time [Please do refer here: http://thoughtsflyfrommymind.blogspot.com/

Anyway, what am I gonna write on this blogging rift is about... LEAGUE OF LEGENDS or anything that I can connect to it. Just a mini-about me, I'm playing League of Legends for like 10 months. I started on the mid-season 4 era and on my first provisional, I landed at Bronze 1 and I ended in Silver  5 (grabbing myself a silver frame, YAY!). Then on Season 5, I started Bronze 4 then few months of playing I'm now currently at Bronze 1 (which I started during Season 4) and unlike the previous season, Bronze 1 is reaaaaly hard to grind but I hope I can make my way to Silver.

As of now, I'm in a blank state of what content you wanna see in this blog. If you guys have a suggested topic you want me to talk about, feel free to comment. I'd love to here it from you, guys. Thanks a lot. :)
